2ND ANNUAL RICHMOND RIVIERA REGATTA

For Immediate Release:  May 28, 2011

GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE!
2ND ANNUAL RICHMOND RIVIERA REGATTA – Aug.12-14th

The Richmond Riviera Fund, (RRF), was created out of the philosophy, “Give Where You Live”.
The Richmond Yacht Club members voted to host the Richmond Riviera Regatta and the Taste of
Richmond event to help the local community by raising money for Richmond based charities.
The organizing committee for the Richmond Riviera Fund, a 501 c 3 non-profit, vetted the
following four charities: Bay Area Rescue Mission, YES (Youth Enrichment Strategies),
Rubicon Programs, and the Richmond Emergency Food Pantry.
Due to the generosity of our community, we raised $26,462. in our first Richmond Riviera
Regatta and Taste of Richmond event. 100% of the money raised was equally divided between
our four local charities. All four charities commented that they have never received donations
from a local effort like ours. Your donation does make a difference and allows the charities to
fund valuable services to our youth, homeless, impoverished families and those with disabilities
who depend on these programs and services to escape poverty and become self-sufficient.
"YES provides week long summer camps for the inner city children and their families, and the
yacht club donation will cover the cost of 66 camperships, including food, lodging and
transportation", said Executive Director, Eric Aaholm. "Rubicon will use it's donation to help
about 50 families who are homeless in Richmond by providing training needed for sustainable
employment, said President and Executive Director, Jane Fischberg.

We need your help to raise $50,000 from this year’s regatta.
